Too often people feel like organizational efforts in the Church stifle true ministry. While that can unfortunately be the case in some churches, it’s not what God intends. A living organism like our human body can’t function well without a level of organization. So, the Church, the Body of Christ, needs organization<\/a>. Ensure organizational efforts enhance rather than entangle ministry by aligning them with Scripture.<\/p>\n

How Aligning Organizational Efforts with Scripture Makes a Difference<\/h2>\n

Organization aligned with Scripture tends to enhance church life and ministry. The reason is simple.\u00a0Aligning with God’s Word should produce the same kind of results as Scripture.\u00a0Take a look at a sample of verses for how Scripture describes itself:<\/p>\n

\"Aligning
\nThe precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. (Ps. 19:8)<\/em><\/div>\n
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. (Ps. 19:8)<\/em><\/div>\n
By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (Ps. 19:11)<\/em><\/div>\n
Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors. (Ps. 119:24)<\/em><\/div>\n
I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding. (Ps. 119:32)<\/em><\/div>\n
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. (Ps. 119:35)<\/em><\/div>\n
I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts. (Ps. 119:45)<\/em><\/div>\n

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. (Ps. 119:105)<\/em><\/div>\n
Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. (Ps. 119:165)<\/em><\/div>\n
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (Jn. 8:32)<\/em><\/div>\n
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)<\/em><\/div>\n

Organization that’s aligned with Scripture should enhance, not stifle church life and ministry. It should enable us to serve with greater freedom and purpose, not entangle us. A true understanding of freedom in Christ leads to a desire for the good of the whole. That often requires a level of organization. — “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” (Gal. 5:13)<\/p>\n
