\"SustainableCan you sustain your schedule without burning out?<\/p>\n

Does your church promote sustainable schedules or is it burning out its faithful members?<\/p>\n

One of the greatest dangers with overtaxed schedules is not burnout but rather failure to nurture who we are in Christ.<\/p>\n

When we fail to nurture who we are in Christ, because we just don’t have the time, we increase our potential for the following:<\/p>\n

integrity breaks
\nbecoming unbalanced
\nlosing focus
\ncompromising truth
\nburning out<\/p>\n

Let’s remember Jesus’ words to Martha in Luke 10:41-42 in response to what she was doing with her time versus what her sister Mary was doing. — “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed \u2014 or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”<\/p>\n

Jesus wasn’t accusing Martha of being too busy doing unimportant things. He did, however, observe that she lacked perspective and peace in what she was doing. She was worried and upset (v. 41). He identified the cause — her failure to recognize how essential sitting at His feet was to her productivity and perseverance.<\/p>\n

Do you want a sustainable schedule?<\/strong> Make the same choice Mary made to view spending intimate time with Jesus as an integral part of your schedule.<\/p>\n
