\"Communication<\/p>\n

Communication is more than a good skill<\/a> for leaders to attain. It’s essential, especially communication with God, if we are going to fulfill our purpose<\/a> to love God and others. And, the more we love God and others, the more and more we’ll find ourselves driven to pray.<\/p>\n

Communication with God is therefore essential in providing motivation and power to love but is also an essential part of loving God and others.<\/div>\n

Communication with God is Essential to Fulfilling Our Purpose<\/h2>\n

Our ability to fulfill our purpose depends on His work in our lives. How will we work in cooperation with God if we don’t seek His ways? How will we have the wisdom and power we need if we don’t ask? Reflect on the following verses. Though these verses may be quite familiar, we don’t always think through the ramifications in light of our ability to fulfill our purpose to love Him and others.<\/p>\n

This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. …” (Matt. 6:9-11)<\/em><\/p>\n

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matt. 7:7)<\/em><\/p>\n

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)<\/em><\/p>\n

You do not have because you do not ask God. (James 4:2)<\/em><\/p>\n

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him. (1 Jn. 5:14-15)<\/em><\/p>\n

Our Purpose to Love God & Others Drives Us to Communicate with God<\/h2>\n

How can we truly love God and not communicate with Him? How can we truly love people and not pray for them? We will be more prone to having love drive us to communication with God when it is described the way it is in the Greatest Commandment:<\/p>\n

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength (Mk. 12:3)<\/em><\/p>\n

If loving God with all of who you are is part of your church’s purpose, communication with Him has to be an essential part of all you do. Even the busyness of ministry will not crowd out time to pray when we love Him as described above.<\/p>\n
