Love has been God’s primary purpose for His people since the beginning (Deut. 6:5; Matt. 22:36-40) but we haven’t reached the heights and depths of God’s love. We can’t begin to comprehend how wide it stretches and how long it is.
\n\"God's<\/p>\n

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord\u2019s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Eph. 3:17-19)<\/em><\/p>\n

Why Love Requires Fluidity in our Organizational Efforts<\/h2>\n

When love provides the cause and effect for our organizational efforts<\/a>, we begin to realize that we can’t hold too tightly to our forms and structures. They are mere tools, not the end. When we organize to enable a greater expression of love, we gain a sense of the need for fluidity in our organizational efforts. Why? Because we realize that none of us have arrived at loving as God loves us. As we keep growing in our love, we gain a greater understanding of life and what it truly means to live a life of love. We begin to change.<\/p>\n

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ — to the glory and praise of God. (Phil. 1:9-11)<\/em><\/p>\n

If the organization we’ve put in place to help us doesn’t change along with us, we begin to plateau and eventually digress in our love. Yet, God’s primary purpose, to love, remains the same. We become like the Church of Ephesus in Revelation 2. Jesus commended them for what they did yet said, “I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”<\/p>\n
