God’s Power for the Church: Grace<\/a><\/center><\/div>\n

We’ve already established, in the previous post,<\/a> that records and reporting should point us to the grace of God at work in our midst.<\/p>\n

That same grace enables us to do record keeping and reporting in ways that line up with Him.<\/p>\n

Ways God’s Grace Keeps Record Keeping and Reporting in Check<\/h2>\n

  1. Because of God’s grace, we can have people involved in record keeping and reporting who are divinely empowered to do so. Spiritual gifts take it beyond mere clerical or administrative work to true ministry. In a future post we’ll look at what gifts are most appropriate for record keeping tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. (Rom. 12:6)<\/em><\/p>\n

    But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. (Eph. 4:7)<\/em><\/p>\n

    Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. (1 Pet. 4:10)<\/em><\/p>\n

    1. God’s grace enables people to serve in this way with integrity. Consequently, by the power of His grace, they won’t manipulate results to reflect what they want records to say.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. (2 Cor. 1:12)<\/em><\/p>\n

      For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. (Titus 2:11-12)<\/em><\/p>\n

      1. Because of God’s grace, people involved in record keeping and reporting don’t have to feel insignificant or embittered if all their time and efforts aren’t recognized by others.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of the — yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. (1 Cor. 15:10)<\/em><\/p>\n

        See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. (Heb. 12:15)<\/em><\/p>\n

        We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thess. 1:12)<\/em><\/p>\n

        You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. (2 Tim. 2:11)<\/em><\/p>\n
