Like it or not, what’s happening in the world often impacts our ability to schedule in the Church.<\/p>\n

busyness:<\/strong><\/em> Many people feel they don’t have time for one more meeting or activity. They don’t have time to get more involved in serving.<\/p>\n

misaligned priorities:<\/strong><\/em> Some people seem to be more concerned about what they can get rather than give, looking out for themselves than the good of others. Or they’re so involved in secular activities that they have no time for the Church.<\/p>\n

stressed:<\/em><\/strong> Others feel so stressed out by life that they feel empty, having nothing left to give.<\/p>\n

distracted:<\/strong><\/em> Even when people do attend or get involved, often their heart isn’t into it. They’re thinking of what else they have to do or what going on in their lives.<\/p>\n

Realities of Life Point to Why Prayer-Based Scheduling is Needed<\/h2>\n

What we’re experiencing now may only worsen the closer we get to the “last days” described in 2 Timothy 3:1-5.<\/p>\n

People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God’s solution? — Pray!

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. (1 Pet. 4:7)<\/p>\n

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Cor. 10:3-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One of our weapons against these negative impacts on scheduling is prayer. We need God’s power to rise above the frustration and despair that can set in. We need God’s power to work in people’s hearts.<\/p>\n
