We have power to function as a team because of the Holy Spirit. God sent the Spirit to be our Helper (Jn. 14:16-17, 26; 15:26) in all we do as individuals and as a Body.<\/p>\n<h2>3 Ways We Have Power to Function as a Team Because of the Holy Spirit<\/h2>\n<p>While we find many ways in Scripture that the Spirit helps us, we&#8217;ll consider just three that especially enable us to be the kind of team that brings about eternal good and doesn&#8217;t just spin our wheels.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Holy Spirit provides the empowerment for each team member to do their part effectively for the good of the whole.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 75px;\"><em>There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. (1 Cor. 12:4)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 75px;\"><em>Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (1 Cor. 12:7)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 40px; list-style-type: square;\">\n<li>Work at identifying the part God has enabled each member to do and assign tasks accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>The Spirit develops within us the Christ-like traits needed to act and react in ways that keep us a cohesive unit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 75px;\"><em>But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 40px; list-style-type: square;\">\n<li>Make sure to walk in the Spirit and encourage others on the team to yield to Him as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>The Holy Spirit helps us align with God rather than bend to personal agendas and preferences.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 75px;\"><em>The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him &#8211; the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness &#8230; (Isa. 11:2-4a)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 40px; list-style-type: square;\">\n<li>Though these verses were spoken of Jesus, how much more would we need to rely on the Spirit so we too &#8220;delight in the fear of the Lord&#8221;, following His ways rather than our own.
