Holy Spirit Essential to Coordination

Think about the diversity in the Church. People come from different backgrounds with varying spiritual gifts, natural talents, personalities, passions, preferences, and opinions. We find families, couples, never-married singles, divorcees, and widows or widowers. Multiple ages levels from . . . Amidst all this diversity, we’re called to be One Body — a monumental feat yet not impossible when we view the Holy Spirit essential to coordination. Motivational Effect of His Name to Coordination

What’s going to push us to coordinate our ministries within the Church, to be concerned with the big picture, not just our little corner? And, once we do get on that trajectory, what’s going to keep us going? Consider the motivational effect of His name to coordination. . . . Prayer Essential to Coordination

We can apply all sorts of leadership skills to coordinate our efforts as a Body. Yet, Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (Jn. 15:5) Certainly prayer qualifies as a major factor in how we abide in, or remain in, Him. We must therefore see prayer as essential to coordination. Continue reading Prayer Essential to Coordination

Jesus’ Resurrection Takes Coordination to New Heights

Jesus didn’t just die so our sin could be forgiven. He came back to life so we can walk in newness of life. — “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Rom. 6:4) — Thus, His resurrection holds the keys to our ability, as His Church, to function as a coordinated whole. Coordination is not only possible in a self-centered world if we live from our position in Christ, but . . . Continue reading Jesus’ Resurrection Takes Coordination to New Heights

Jesus’ Resurrection Provides the Keys to Coordination

We’ve noted from Colossians 3:1-11 that we can reach new heights in coordination as a Church when we live from our position with Christ in the heavenlies (Eph. 2:6). Having been raised with Christ, we set our hearts on things above. We put to death the self-driven nature that fights against true coordination (Col. 3:5-9), and “put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator” (Col. 3:10). Hence, the Resurrected Jesus is key to our ability to coordinate with one another both inwardly and outwardly. . . . Continue reading Jesus’ Resurrection Provides the Keys to Coordination

Coordinating with One Another, Not Outwitted by the Enemy

One of the purposes of seeking to bring coordination to the Church is that we function in accordance with the oneness we have in Christ. We’re to mirror the oneness between the Godhead which will serve as a witness to the world around us (Jn. 17:20-21). Satan, God’s enemy, doesn’t want that to happen so he will do want he can to thwart God’s purposes. . . . Continue reading Coordinating with One Another, Not Outwitted by the Enemy

God’s Word Gets Us Singing the Same Song

Coordination can be likened to a group of people coming together to sing. Because some sing soprano, and others alto, tenor, or baritone, they’re not all singing the same notes. When they sing the same song in the same key and with the same rhythm, there’s harmony. If they’re in this kind of alignment with each other, it sounds good. If not, there’s trouble. — What enables us to “sing” together in ministry? — God’s Word provides the score. When we get on page with Him, our different parts come together, coordinated in perfect harmony. . . . Continue reading God’s Word Gets Us Singing the Same Song
