Prayer-based Scheduling Makes a Difference - It's PowerfulA previous article looked at our need to maintain Christ-like integrity in the midst of scheduling woes. To consistently keep our focus and responses where they belong, we need help — God’s help. The power we need to deal with the frustrations and stresses that can come with scheduling is available (2 Pet. 1:3). We just need to ask (Matt. 7:7-8; Jn. 16:23-24).

How Scheduling That’s Prayer-Based Makes a Difference

Think of the struggles faced in scheduling and then reflect on the role of prayer in resolving those problems. Praying makes a difference because we have a God “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20-21).

Feeling stressed out or anxious?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:6-7)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Pet. 5:7)

Keep coming up short-handed in scheduling people for ministries?

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. (Lk. 10:2)

Not sure how to flex, or change, the way you do scheduling to better accommodate needs and enhance ministry … to make it work?

indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Prov. 2:3-6)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)

Tired of all the issues and want to give up?

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. (Ps. 62:8)

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isa. 40:31)

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30)
