The Church faces a lot of change these days. We need power to manage change well. Getting people involved using their spiritual gifting may be one of the best ways to avoid many of the pitfalls that come with changing. It could lead to growth instead.
A Change Process Based on People’s Spiritual Gifts Leads to Growth of the Body
Communication is important but we also need get as many people as possible involved in the process in some way based on their spiritual gifts. When we ask everybody to do their part, the potential for growing and becoming a more mature Body increases.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Eph. 4:15-16)
While much change must happen due to physical realities, this is still the Lord’s Church and so we want to get on page with Him and make changes in His power. We pull on His power when we enlist help based on people’s spiritual gifting. This, then, becomes a change process that leads to the growth of the Body.
