Power of God Needed to Rise Above in Conflict

Rise Above in Conflict Because of Position in Christ Jesus
Too often disputes escalate in churches because we fail to grab hold of God’s power to rise above in conflict.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 2:6-7)

Our Position in Christ Gives Us Power to Rise Above in Conflict

Positionally, seated in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, we’re already in a place that would give us the perspective needed to deal with conflict in a Christ-like manner. But, because we don’t always live in accordance with our position in Him, we find ourselves in unhealthy conflict.

It took God’s power to raise Jesus, and consequently us, to that position of victory over sin and its destructive consequences. Likewise, it will take the power of God for us to live from that position.

The Steering the Church Toward God’s Power Leadership Guide gives four reasons why God’s power is essential for leaders in dealing with conflict. This resource also points to the need for God’s power in 24 other leadership tasks and responsibilities.

    • Hello, Pantaleo malawa. How good that you wish to gain more understanding about conflict management in the church. God want us to be members of one another, living in unity. The church, however, is composed of human beings who don’t always treat each other as God intends. For help beyond what you can read about conflict on this site, let me suggest you check out Peacemaker Ministries.
