Jesus, in the short time He lived on earth accomplished more eternal good than all church boards, committees, or ministry teams combined ever will in their entire life spans. Being the Almighty, All-Wise God in the flesh (Jn. 1:1) certainly contributed into that reality but it also undoubtedly resulted from how purposeful He was. He knew why He came to earth and lived in accordance with that (Lk. 19:10; Jn. 4:34; 6:38). He kept His eye on the big picture which enabled Him to get through the hard times (Heb. 12:2).

Purposeful, Christ-like Boards, Committees, and Ministry Teams will Not be Characterized by the Following:

1) They will not be aimless.

Jesus was criticized for many things, but floundering around, failing to accomplish much of anything, was not one of them.

2) They will not merely be about oiling the machinery.

Jesus didn’t come to maintain status quo. He came to not only fulfill the law but take it to the next level (Matt. 5:17-48).
