Now is not the time to simply get things done through our board, committees, or ministry teams. All the more, we need to strategically accomplish all there is to do for the church to come together and function as it should in accordance with our church purpose, design, and mission. That begins by seeking the involvement of every member in these teams, pulling on spiritual gifts.
There’s so much to do. We need everyone’s input and contribution.
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. (Rom. 12:4-6a)
But, in our effort to get each member involved, let’s make sure that …
- we don’t merely assign busy work simply to say everyone’s involved.
- we don’t frustrate people by giving them something to do they have no real passion or ability toward.
Strategically Pulling on Spiritual Gifts of Board, Committee, and Team Members Makes Involvement Meaningful
To help ensure the above doesn’t happen, we need to make assignments, as much as is possible, in accordance with members’ spiritual gifting.
